Design and feasibility study are crucial steps in the creation of a custom rubber or silicone gasket or part.
Attivar's technical team makes its know-how available in the process of co-designing a product, collaborating with the client's designers and bringing added value in the areas of material selection, refinement of critical product elements (sharp edges, undercut elements, thin membranes) and optimization of the entire production process (adaptation of the process to the final product, definition of the moulding technology, consequent mould characteristics and choice of the finishing and control method).
Attivar also offers a reverse engineering service that allows a single sample provided by the customer to be used to reconstruct the 3D and 2D drawings. It starts with a 3D scan of the sample (and if necessary also of the frame on which it will be mounted), which is processed to create the 3D model of the product and consequently define the 2D technical drawing that includes tolerances, critical dimensions, material specifications and any additional requirements. The results are then verified using an optical measuring machine to ensure maximum accuracy and correspondence between the dimensions of the initial sample and those of the reconstructed model.
With the help of these models, it is then possible to proceed with the construction of the series mould or pre-series mould for the production of the first samples.
